A healthy, quality life is the desire of almost everyone. With the trials and tribulations of the modern world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep one’s health and mind in perfect balance. Problems such as stress, anxiety disorders and depression are as tangible threats as “physical” illnesses and must be treated in the same way. To keep the body and mind healthy without losing track, and above all, to reconcile all this with daily tasks, we have prepared a guide containing the basic rules for living a fully healthy life.

1 – Nutrition

It is not new that everything we eat has an influence on our physical and mental health. Eating properly is fundamental for us to keep our body functions up to date and, even more so, to have the energy we need to fulfill our duties and daily activities. Eating plenty of vegetables and fruits, not overdoing sweets and fats and avoiding soft drinks and alcohol as much as possible are guidelines for a good diet, but they are not enough.

Often, the diet you follow may be the real villain for your health. Self-criticism in these cases can be detrimental to your mental health, so it’s always a good idea to think about whether you’re weighing yourself on diets and making yourself pay for things like excess weight and fat. After all, being happy is also enjoying a good cake from time to time.

2 – Physical activity

Just like food, physical activity helps to keep the body’s functioning levels in order. It is more than proven that exercise releases serotonin, the hormone responsible for the feeling of well-being. Getting your body moving allows you to have a better disposition throughout the day. If you don’t like to work out, look for activities that combine exercise and recreation, such as a walk in the park or a dance class. The important thing is to get moving.

3 – Sleep well

Sleeping well and long enough is another rule for those who want to lead a healthy life. When we rest properly, we are able to better organize our routine and perform our activities with more energy. The place where we sleep, the type of mattress, the climate, everything influences so that our nights of sleep are real laboratories of restoration of the body and mind.

4 – Friends, many friends

Being surrounded by loved ones who think and act positively is the first step to being happier and therefore healthier. Being able to count on the company of those who love you and who have similar ideas to yours is the golden rule of a quality life. These people will be there when you need them most and they won’t go away when everything is at its best, helping you to overcome the anxious moments and enjoy the best moments of life with you.

5 – Relaxation is necessary

At least once a day, whether it is five minutes or two hours, devote some time to total idleness. In these moments, avoid thinking about the problems or challenges you have to overcome, and focus your mind on pleasant sensations, places, people and objects. Taking care of the head is as important to good health as taking care of the body.
